David Leitch was appointed VP, Head of Marine for Canada at Sompo in January 2025.
In this role, he leads Sompo’s marine business in Canada and is based in Toronto.
Mr Leitch has more than 40 years of insurance industry experience, with expertise in marine underwriting, broking and client relationship management.
Prior to joining Sompo, he held senior positions at a number of insurance firms where he worked across a range of specialty insurance and brokerage roles in Canada.
Mr Leitch holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology from Trent University. He also earned the Associate, Marine Specialty designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada.
